This beautiful Hive tenor ukulele is a ‘Hornet’ model by designation and was meticulously handcrafted with the utmost attention to detail and tone. The back and sides were handcrafted of gorgeous Pomelle Sapele wood – a dense, lustrous, iridescence hardwood with colors that range from light pink to brown and gold to red that is found in Africa and is frequently used on select premium guitars and ukuleles for its wonderful tonal qualities and beautiful appearance. It has found continued interest in luthiery communities as a point of discussion when used as the back and sides of an instrument and is known for its strong bass and lower mids, and extra treble zing. The soundboard is a master grade set of legendary Adirondack spruce, giving the player a bold, clear tone. This Hive ukulele also boasts a gorgeous jet black Gabon ebony wood fingerboard, bridge, and headstock plate. Gorgeous curly Maple wood neck tinted to match the body of the instrument. Matching Pomelle Sapele wood top and back binding with a matching Sapele wood and paua shell rosette inlay absolutely meticulously done. Side sound port for monitor like effect.
