Custom GKU Tenor Ukulele

Beautiful Custom GKU tenor ukulele handcrafted by Greg Uyehara of Honolulu, Hawaii. This GKU tenor ukulele was made a few years ago and went virtually unplayed. It remains in wonderful original condition and has a wonderful sound and projection.

Golden colored Hawaiian Koa back and sides with a musician’s grade Sitka spruce soundboard. Classic ebony fretboard and bridge. Honduran mahogany wood neck for added stability and increased sustain with a black celluloid top binding for aesthetic appeal and a black-white-black-Hawaiian Koa-black-white-black rosette. Paua shell fretboard markers on position 12 for quick reference. Zero fret incorporated at the nut as well. The neck is perfectly straight and the action set well. Professional Gotoh geared tuners for smooth and precise tuning. Satin style finish.

GKU ukuleles are handcrafted on the island of Oahu and made available to ukulele enthusiasts only in extremely low numbers each year. Prices typically begin around $2,800 for a more basic model and range upwards of $6,500 for the more elaborate models showcasing the highest grade woods and amenities. This one is gorgeous and a more basic model. It has exceptional volume, projection, and sustain and is a wonderful players ukulele minus all the ‘bling’ of the premium models that Greg handcrafts. Great clarity with  nice low end, a balanced mid-range, and crisp highs. A highly recommended and extremely rare custom tenor ukulele by Greg Uyehara of GKU Ukuleles. ID#:180199
