Custom Koa Works Ukulele. A beautiful new Custom Koa Works Tenor Ukulele handcrafted on the Big island of Hawai’i by one of best luthiers in custom ukuleles and guitars out of the Aloha State. This one was just completed and incorporates a wonderful example of simple elegance defined in master grade curly Hawaiian Mango wood.

Handcrafted of quarter-sawn curly Hawaiian Mango wood on face, back and sides, this beautiful instrument boasts a musicians grade Macassar ebony wood fretboard and bridge, consistent with the best in recording level instruments. The top and back binding and bound fretboard are crafted with esquisite and prized curly Hawaiian Koa wood in keeping with the Hawaii theme of the instrument. Gorgeous b-w-b purfling, abalone shell, and b-w-b purfling rosette with a matching black-white top purfling lines for a subtle aesthetic appeal. The Hawaiian Koa wood bound fretboard also adds for smooth play up and down the neck and is highly recommended for players who enjoy playing higher up on the neck. Beautiful curly Hawaiian Koa wood dual pick guards. Gorgeous paua shell position markers on positions 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15 for quick reference. A 14 fret neck joint to the body for extended reach in the higher positions on the neck with 20 overall frets to the sound hole. Abalone or ‘paua’ shell ‘Honu’ inlay on headstock representing the Hawaiian sea turtle. Professional gold Gotoh machine tuners for precise tuning, Honduran mahogany wood neck with truss rod for added stability and sustain, matching Hawaiian Mango wood headstock veneer, Molokai deer antler nut and saddle, and a high-gloss finish with a sound that rings true ‘Hawaii’.

This beauty really sings and has excellent volume and incredible sustain. The low tones are nice and long and crisp and balanced on the high end as well.
