(Circa 2012). A work of art! Custom DeVine Tenor Ukulele built on the island of Maui, HI. This Custom DeVine Tenor Ukulele is as new as a preowned ukulele could possible get. It remains in beautiful original condition, was meticulously cared for, and went virtually unplayed. With a waitlist of 2-3 years on average, Eric DeVine handcrafts a limited number of premium ukuleles per year and some of the finest ukuleles in the world. If you were looking for one of the best in high-end ukes, you’ll be very pleased with the craftsmanship and tones of a custom DeVine ukulele.
This masterpiece was handcrafted from a premium master grade “Pink” Hawaiian curly Koa face, back and sides with rare blond curly Koa binding on face and back and bound fretboard. Eric came across this special Koa wood several years back and had enough for about three complete tenors – one of which is this gorgeous piece. The natural hues of the Hawaiian Koa have a light pink to it and remarkably it remains to be the only tree that we have come across thus far to bear this unique pigment in the wood. Absolutely stunning! Bone nut and saddle. Solid Mahogany neck with graphite rod for added stability. Ebony fretboard and bridge and abalone shell inlay on the soundboard for aesthetic appeal. Matching abalone shell position markers have been inlaid on positions 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, and 17.
Beautiful paua shell rosette around upper bout soundhole and side port for monitor-like effect. Classic ebony wood headstock cap with ‘paua’ abalone shell DeVine [ V ] logo and vine inlay. Elegant black-white pin-striped purfling on top, back, and sides. Professional fine-tune Waverly open-geared machine tuners for precise tuning and classic appeal. Nitrocellulose high-gloss finish. Incredible tone with perfect intonation. Tremendous sustain with warm, rich and complex tones.
