A wonderful and extremely rare 1920s Martin (8-string) 3M Taropatch Ukulele handcrafted by C.F. Martin & Co. of Nazareth, PA. 1909 Manuel Nunes Ukulele

Beautiful and extremely rare Manuel Nunes soprano ukulele from the early 1909 in gorgeous original condition. This beautiful piece was handcrafted on the island of Oahu at the turn of the twentieth century.  Manuel Nunes was one of three luthiers along with Augusto Dias and Jose do Espirito Santo who are credited with creating the early ukulele. 1890 Jose do Espirito Santo Rajao

Considered one of the parent instruments, “the mother”, of the modern day ukulele, the ukulele is believed to have received its current tuning of G-C-E-A from the Madeiran Rajao, which is tuned D-G-C-E-A.
